Problems keep us isolated, lost, and doubting ourselves. We get convinced into thinking that we are the problem and lose sight of all the factors that can bring us to a low point. I work with people to find a way out and build a life worth living. I specialize in working with the Queer and Trans community and I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, difficulties with big emotions, and marginalization.
In therapy we look at the stories we have been told about ourselves and we tell ourselves. In therapy, these stories can be rewritten, bringing you closer to your hopes and values, serving as the catalyst for change.
Whether you are coming to me at a stable point in your life, ready to make some intentional changes or experiencing the hardest parts of life when hope is small and problems are big, my approach is to be collaborative.
I believe that how we approach life and therefore therapy, is informed by this body we live in and the cultures that raised us. This means that conversations about racism, sexism, ableism and other forms of oppression are welcome and essential in the therapy space. It’s also important to celebrate the wonderful things about ourselves and the people we have in our lives, as this is often vital to our survival and our ability to flourish.
