In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I am a professor at the University of Texas School of Medicine. In my free time, I love fitness and exploring small Texas towns. It’s a time of big changes, big questions, and a lot of pressure—about who you are, where you belong, and whether you’re doing “enough.” I work with college students who are navigating anxiety, body image struggles, perfectionism, and that nagging feeling of not measuring up, even when everything seems fine on the outside. If you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or just off, therapy can be a space to slow down and figure out what’s really going on. Whether you’re on campus or away, we’ll work together to help you feel more confident, grounded, and connected—both to yourself and the life you’re building.

Hi! My main goal is always to help my clients to help themselves, so you feel empowered to embrace stress and change as it comes. With experience working in an eating disorder hospital and 7 years working as a therapist in the Athletic Depts at UT Austin and CU Boulder, I've been involved with supporting my clients through the life challenges that high schoolers, young adults, and adults face for my entire professional career. I am EMDR certified and use this to treat trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, urges in addiction/EDs, and sport performance (both positive reinforcement as well as treating mental blocks). I particularly enjoy teaching tools for navigating anxiety and depressive symptoms, helping to make peace with body image, and supporting mental performance for sport. I also have a passion for supporting perfectionists to expand their view of themselves and learn to release a little of the control that is actually controlling them!
